In 1986, the National Association CIOFS-FP was born.
Currently, the CIOFS-FP operates in 13 regions with 13 Regional Associations and 61 Operating Centres.
CIOFS-FP is engaged in the provision and implementation of projects both in Italy and in Europe. The topics range from the development of the vocational education and training system to the fight against school drop-out. Social inclusion projects related to specific targets such as young people, NEETs, women, the unemployed, migrants etc. are also promoted.
Since 1991, CIOFS-FP has carried out:
- 50 projects funded and promoted by CIOFS-FP
- 14 projects funded in partnerships or joint ventures with the participation of CIOFS-FP
- 10 CIOFS-FP self-financed projects from 2000 to the present date: research and research-action plans on the trends and key issues to support the quality and effectiveness of VT
CIOFS-FP participates actively in the Italian network of Vocational Training. It steadily cooperates with other training and non- profit organizations, public and private institutions, universities, regional school boards, businesses, local and regional authorities. The Association relies on a database of partners shared by about 280 national and international partners.
Some our EU projects relevant for NICeR:
DIME aims at improving the educational and training offer for migrants in order to promote sharing and social cohesion. To this end, the project aims to define a model of formal and informal skills necessary inclusion of migrants and to develop and implement models and interactive teaching methods, based on new learning processes and transversal ones, through processes that facilitate the socio-cultural and economic inclusion of migrants.
Mistra is a project coordinated by Ciofs-fp for the involvement of policy makers, local authorities and public and private stakeholders in activities aimed at integrating policies and specific interventions (support actions for training, job placement, cultural mediation, housing policies, etc.), identified as good practices at European level for the social inclusion of the immigrant population.
LeCiM – Learning Cities for Migrants Inclusion is a mainstreaming project aimed at the involvement of policy makers, local authorities and public and private stakeholders on projects, aimed at integrating policies and targeted interventions (support actions for training, job placement, mediation cultural, housing policies, etc.), identified as good practices at a European level for the social inclusion of the immigrant population. In this regard, the transfer of 3 good practices (from Bologna, Berlin and Dunkerque) to 3 target cities (Santander, Catania and Budapest) was envisaged.
Entreprendre quand même is a project focuses on: – The creation of educational guides for practitioners and professionals involved in business creation by migrants, taking into account the characteristics of migrants themselves and / or target groups with low-level qualifications – development of support activities for these groups and definition of individual skills – creation of a practice community for the entrepreneurship of migrants and vulnerable people.
